Chill dough for 1 hour. First, gently heat the butter, sugar and syrup together in a small saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.

Bake at 350f for 10 minutes. If your ginger cookies go a little dry, try giving them 10 to 15 seconds in the microwave. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for one hour.

The oven time will depend on how thick you’ve rolled out the cookies. Preheat the oven to 180°c/gas mark 4.
